 | Laura Hartner is an Alaskan who was bitten early by the theater bug, and studied acting at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Restless to see the world and follow in her parents traveling footsteps, she left conservatory life and embarked on a two year trek across the country in her 1972 Volkswagen bug, chronicling her odyssey through video and journals. It was during those long hours on the road that she recieved her first education in Public Radio. She continued that education during her years in Philadelphia listening to great stations such as WHYY and WXPN. Having fallen for the medium of radio, she moved to the Palouse to attend the Edward R Murrow School of Communication. She started at NWPR as a phone volunteer in 2004, quickly worked her way up to a board operator and joined the team fulltime as the Traffic Manager in 2006.She started at NWPR as a phone volunteer in 2004. |
