 | A New Orleans native, Rita Brown graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in Communications. She started her career in marketing at a local television station in Wenatchee, Washington and then moved to commercial radio. Rita worked her way through the radio station group as sales manager, marketing manager, general manager and lastly as the Operations manager of 5 stations owned by Fisher Broadcasting. One of her proudest accomplishments in her 15 years in broadcasting is being instrumental in starting and managing the first Spanish speaking radio station in Central Washington, which she passionately served for many years. She later became Marketing Director for Charter Communications and then began her own marketing agency. Rita just joined Northwest Public Radio in the underwriting department in November; she's based out of Wenatchee. She's happy to be back in the broadcasting industry especially now that she's with public radio. | |
