Erick Erickson and Karl Bates will describe the heavy action they saw in the South Pacific on the aircraft carrier Saratoga, which was hit by Japanese bombs and fighter planes. Bates lost his legs in an artillery accident; Erickson was on the Saratoga for 18 months in the Pacific and then the Indian Ocean, shutting down Japan’s access to oil fields. The program is the last in this year’s midweek afternoon series designed for senior citizens. All ages are welcome.
