Shaindel Beers is the featured poet at the WSU Tri-Cities Open Mic Poetry Reading Night on Nov. 5.
She will read and discuss her poetry for about 20 minutes, then each person who signs up for Open Mic will be invited to read an original poem. Beers closes with a final poem.
Beers' full-length collection of poems, A Brief History of Time, was published by Salt Publishing. She is an English instructor at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton.
Part of the Liberal Arts Season sponsored by the Richland Arts Commission in celebration of the 20th anniversary as a WSU campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
