Description
The Central Washington University music department’s Faculty Wind Quintet will present a concert on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Music Building Recital Hall. The group includes flutist Hal Ott, oboist Brent Hages, clarinetist Joseph Brooks, bassoonist Jeff Snedeker and bassoonist Daniel Lipori. The program will include works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Carl Nielsen and the premier of a new work by CWU composition faculty member Elaine Ross. The quintet has been very active in the state recently, presenting concerts in Chehalis, Wash., at the Seasons in Yakima and at Suncadia resort. It has upcoming performances scheduled for the Englewood Christian Church in Yakima and the Seasons Brown Bag concerts. It has also visited several schools throughout the state, giving performances and demonstrations for many high school students. Members of group perform in other regional orchestras, including the Yakima Symphony, Wenatchee Valley Symphony and the Bellevue Philharmonic, among others. They also give regular solo recitals and are frequent clinicians for music festivals and concerts in the Northwest. The concert is free and open to the public. Persons of disability may make arrangements for reasonable accommodation by calling (509) 963-1242 or (for hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-2143.
